Starting this thread because this is important to me.

AnonNews uses an open-posting concept. Anyone can post to the site, and moderators will approve relevant posts. No censorship takes place!

As you probably know, Anon has been taking an active stance on recent developments in the middle east, and the whole HBGary thing has made mainstream media realize that Anon is a powerful force in the information age.
I'll try to update this thread with non tl;dr summaries of anything important that transpires.

Ok so this guy, Aaron Barr, works for a security firm called HBGary Federal, an offshoot of HBGary which deals with government contracts.  He felt it would be a good idea to generate publicity for their services by going after Anonymous and uncovering their leadership (A futile attempt of course)

After convincing himself that he had done the impossible and bragging about how he was going to reveal a (completely fake) list of names and addresses of Anon higher ups to the FBI, Anonymous retaliated by hacking into HBGary's systems and wreaking havoc on everything, even uncovering 50,000 internal corporate emails and taking over Aaron Barr's twitter.

tl;dr version

HBGary Federal is completely destroyed
Embarassing emails reveal the nature of cybersecurity in the government
Anonymous now has the code for the Stuxnet worm
Aaron's career is ruined
