Fox's Review - Megaman X5

Megaman X5, the prime of the X series.  This game stands out from every other Megaman X game, and was intended to lead the series into the Zero saga.  Major events happen in this game, and even though there's no anime cutscenes or much voice acting, it works to pull the X series to an end.  X6 and beyond don't count.

Graphics: All of the graphics are done in the PSX style, and not a beat is missed as a few old types of enemies redone in the new style.  Presents a good looking feel to the game it needs.  The new armors are well done, as well.  The Ultimate Armor from X4 is carried over, but is colored much better and X doesn't need a purple trim to use it this time around.   In fact, if you enter the code for it, you can start with the armor outright instead of having to find a single armor capsule for it.

Sound: The Music is top-notch.  All of the sound effects are basically from X4, the voices that were in the japanese version were un-touched, giving the game a feel it needed.  Some of the music was remixed from previous games ("Duff Mcwhalen"'s theme is Bubble Crab's, the Capsule theme is arranged from MMX1, and Rangda Bangda's theme from one of the Megaman games is present as well.) and every character theme shines.  X's always leaves you with that "Here is the main character of the series, and he will come through no matter what the challenge." feeling and Zero's always leaves you with "This guy hasn't had as good a past as the main hero, but he fights in his own pattern."

Story: 21XX.  Episode 5.  I swear, if it were an anime, it'd be an 8-Episode long OAV.  Sigma's made a return, the hunters have him cornered, it turns out to be a big trap the colony starts for Earth, the hunters gotta blast it out of the sky and the story can branch out from there.  But any way you go... Zero dies.  And so does X.  But X comes back.  With Zero's sword.  Or X dies, no memory of Zero, or something like that.  This is where Sigma ends, yo.

Difficulty: Depends on whether or not you play as X.  X = Hard.   And not like Broly (yes yes, guild issues.) and Zero = easy.  Sorry fangirls, he's not into you.  He's a ROBOT for General's sake!
