You know what I find funny?

The fact that when you beat Crocomire in Super Metroid, you get to see his very own skin melt and dissolve before your very eyes.  Nowadays a game would get rated M for that crap.

UHMEEEEBA

Fun Fact II: Unused Crocomire sprites are in Metroid: Zero Mission the GBA remake of Metroid 1.

Fusion

Fun Fact III: Metroid Fusion's debug level uses Wario Land 4 tiles, indicating that Wario Land 4's engine was the Metroid Fusion testbed.

This is nothing new.

THey built Super Mario Bros. 2 JP off of Super Mario Bros' engine.

UHMEEEEBA

Kid Icarus was built on the Metroid Engine.

The obscure Kid Icarus sequel/remake on the Game Boy was built off the Metroid II engine.

This is because the games were made by the same person, but yes Nintendo has liked to reuse game engines in the past.
