Synopsis: The last game in the Marvel/ Capcom VS series, and is often regarded by combo junkies as the best of the series; in contrast, Marvel vs Capcom is regarded as the best by the gaming world's critics and coders. While at first I found this game to be quite enthralling, the bugs and infinites take a toll on the fun factor after the original luster wears off. This is the only game in the series that features all characters from the previous games, sans secret characters and bosses. Hence, it has one of, if not the largest cast of characters in any fighting game.

Controls: 10/10 Of all the versions of the game, the Dreamcast control responds the best. There's no lag in the response time, and the buttons are just as comfortable to use as an arcade stick.

Sounds: 6.5/10 One of the game's downfalls, but very little fault is that of the actual music (which give or take is somewhat of an acid jazz score), but rather the cluster of sound when there are 4 or more characters onscreen. Though for the most part it's not hard to distinguish them from each other, it can get to sound like a jumbled mess.

Gameplay: 6.5/10 A main draw of the game, it never really gets old, but the discover of infinites, and the lack of balance between character's unique abilities (particularly that of large characters' super armor, Iceman's anti-damage block, and Spiral's ability to use her Lv. 3 hyper combo as a Team Hyper) can lead to many one-sided matches. While it expands on Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter's assist system, the lack of a solid basis for all moves can turn most matches into a chipfest. This is even made worse by the broken Hyper Cancel system, as well as the fact that most "cheap" strategies are comprised of simple repeated one-button presses. Also, the infamous Capcom AI is back, though seemingly lacking in Abyss, the games' boss.

Graphics: 8/10 Pretty good looking, though there is better available in 2D for Dreamcast (later in the system's life), the game looks just as good as it does in the arcade, like most CPS3 conversions for Dreamcast.

Replayability: 8/10 As much as you can bitch about it, it still makes a decent party game, especially when you're just looking for an all out smashfest. While it's not the best of Capcom's repertoire, it's not bad in between bouts of KOF and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.
