But Zero was Wily's work. And he was rebuilt after that by Cain.



I seriously doubt that was Cain's work...

Actually, his three parts the X Hunters used, were fixed first by Serges. Serges seems like the type to give him "those" upgrades, after all he gave him the Beam Saber, and the shoulder pads that were in Wily's blueprints in Power Fighters.
