MegaMan 9 (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=cc1689213316c5718dffb1571c55bf3e&topic=6546.0), I doubt it.

Nows about the time people who claim to work at Capcom start making fake beta shots.
OH HEY, THERE'S ONE NOW. (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=6598.0)
It's shopped. I can tell by the pixels and having seen quite a few shops in my life.
That and RockManPM a day later revealed it was and they had done it basically for shits and giggles.
NEWS FLASH: It's June guys, not April.
And the rumors continue unabated. (http://blue-bomber.jvmwriter.org/index.php?title=Main_Page)
Only this time it's apparently real (http://corrupt, adulterating shitbags.com/5019986/old-school-mega-man-9-coming-to-wiiware). No really, it's in Nintendo Power. More info here (http://wii.kombo.com/article.php?artid=12136). The highlights:
It's being made by Inti-Creates which may explain the lack of a ZX3.
It's 8-bit, apparently Int-Creates had too much fun doing the MegaMan @ mini-game in ZXA.
It's coming out for Wii Ware.
The plot apparently involves Dr. Wily framing Dr. Light for a recent robot outbreak.
The bosses include: Magma Man
Galaxy Man
Jewel Man
Concrete Man
Hornet Man
Plug Man
Tornado Man
Splash WOMAN
Galaxy Man gives you a black hole weapon which Hornet Man is weak to, sound familiar? The game also isn't going to have a *Insert Color Here* Devil.
SPLASH WOMAN?!
I wonder if Forte will be in this. He better.
Only new thing of note I have to say is it is rumored there may be XBox Live and PSN versions that aren't 8bit.
Edit: Super zoomed in scan confirming, yes it's Splash Woman.
Also states a release this fall.
Also mentions it's set after MegaMan 8, so an appearance from Bass/Forte is pretty much a given. When the whole MegaMan 9 thing first broke with the Australia thing, there was a rumor it was 8bit and ProtoMan/Blues was playable in addition to MegaMan; one part is true now so ProtoMan/Blues might be playable...
Apparently the game may be a Wii exclusive. (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=6674.0)
Gamesradar got to play the game. (http://www.gamesradar.com/wii/mega-man-9-wiiware/preview/mega-man-9-exclusive-reveal/a-20080702154756565049/g-20080626165055938021)
Also they got to interview Inafune. (http://www.gamesradar.com/f/mega-man-9-exclusive-interview-with-the-mind-behind-the-machines/a-2008070217152878013)
Summarized Stage details:
Galaxy Man: Portal
Plug Man: Obligatory vanish block section.
Jewel Man: Makes use of pendulum swings.
Magma Man: Instant Kill Beams
Splash Woman: Features a section similar to the bubble puzzle used in a section of Wave Man's MegaMan 5 stage. Also one of the bosses Inafune designed.
Hornet Man: His stage features a lot of bees.
THE PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN. But really, nothing else about him.
Concrete Man: Is apparently similar to GutsMan, nothing about his level though.
Tornado Man: Said to have the hardest level it's the one with the magnetic spinning platforms and lots of midair jumps.
Summarized Gameplay Details:
The shop system of MegaMan IV (GB), V (GB), 7, 8 and MegaMan and Bass. At the least you can buy the Energy Balancer, a spike protector and an armor that halves damage taken. They do not mention who RUNS the shop though.
The charge shot and sliding are notably
absent in the version they played at least, but they noticed there were small tunnels. In the interview with Inafune, you can find this:
QuoteGamesRadar: By the sixth installment, Mega Man had gained several moves (sliding, charge shots, Rush help). Will any of these make it into part 9 or are you aiming for a more Mega Man 2-style game?
Inafune: Mega Man 9 will be much closer to Mega Man 2. As mentioned earlier, in the process of going back to our roots, we came to conclude that those fancy moves were unnecessary. There are many gamers who claim that Mega Man 2 is their absolute favorite. I took it as an indication that Mega Man is not all about the moves. The beauty of Mega Man actually lies in its simplicity and a fine mixture of simple gameplay, puzzle-like thrill of maneuvering tricks at the last minute, and battles. Instead of new moves, we've tried to find an excellent balance in the game design and to achieve "simplicity and fun" in the very detailed-oriented age.
... so yeah... they might either make you buy them back from Dr. Light or might be able to unlock them like in Powered Up... but it seems that you won't be using it to start with at the least.
You can play as MegaMan without his helmet for some strange reason.
The main menu, which contains the stage select screen and shop contains options they are not allowed to talk about yet.
The boss doors now have a "Dr. L" emblem in front of them instead of Wily's logo, which makes sense given the plot.
The guys playing the game claim the bosses are hard, they played for two hours, only reached three and of those only killed two. This actually doesn't sound bad given it's their first play through and while we can guess weaknesses we don't know them for a fact yet (Also there's Plug Man, seriously WTF). Also remember most gaming sites suck at playing MegaMan games.
Rush Coil is available at the start.
More information is said to come during E3.
Oh and Inafune knows about that stupid AirMan meme.
Fuck Airman.
QuoteThe boss doors now have a "Dr. L" emblem in front of them instead of Wily's logo, which makes sense given the plot.
Wait what?

Short clip of Tornado Man's level and Concrete Man(?)'s level.
Sounds like the soundtrack's gonna be no problem. I'll be expecting someone at 2a03 to be remaking the music in NSF.
That second level looks just.... Mean.
The game will cost 10 dollars. (http://corrupt, adulterating shitbags.com/5023206/here-have-some-mega-man-9-screens) Apparently Famitsu confirmed downloadable content as well.

It doesn't look as mean as the first Mr. X from Megaman 6.
DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT?
ON THE WII?
SURELY YOU JEST
Well in Powered Up the "Downloadable Content" was in fact all installed on the game and were instead just activated via download once Capcom made them available... they could conceivably do something like that again in place of actual downloadable content.
I just wonder if they're building it on the NES platform, or are doing what that Rockman 7 NES fangame did.
Trailer. (http://wii.ign.com/articles/888/888041p1.html) Also the game is not a WiiWare exclusive after all. In addition to the intro you can also see a bit of all the stages and silhouettes of the bosses, Splash Woman is a mermaid. IGN claims there will be a leaderboard ranking system. Roll and Beat can be seen in the trailer.
In addition MegaMan 1 and 2 will be released on Virtual Console soon.
As pointed out here (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=6757.msg220279#msg220279), you can actually make out a few details of Splash Woman if you pause right before her section.
Tried it with the others, doesn't seem to work.
Oh and as for Galaxy Man's stage being a Portal ripoff, I think it's safe to say Capcom's staff members are fans of Portal because in addition to that, I found this on their site a while back:
Makes sense.
The IGN article by the way points out the robots were indeed created by Dr. Light... you would think after MegaMan 1 he'd know not to make more.
Some people think that the fact they are Light bots might be used as an excuse to make them playable like in Powered Up... but then they realize Splash Woman has NO LEGS.
What she's a robot she could be like a Transformer....
And the question here is WHY did Light make them? What purpose would they serve?
He's Light, he probably is going to justify them the same way he did in MegaMan 1 (i.e. the robot with giant killer scissors on its head being a lumberjack), heck let me try:
Splash Woman: Water purification, deep sea exploration.
Magma Man: Waste disposal.
Concrete Man: Construction purposes.
Tornado Man: Wind power generation.
Plug Man: Electrical grid work (assuming he's electric).
Galaxy Man: Space Exploration.
Jewel Man: Looking pretty, alternatively construction (i.e. diamond tipped drills).
Hornet Man: Rounds up all the hornets so they can be killed in mass numbers preventing crop damage.
Seriously though, I think Dr. Light's really evil.
Courtesy of HeatMan, it was pointed out that during the final part of that trailer when it zooms out one of the screens has Splash Woman in it. (http://blue-bomber.jvmwriter.org/community/index.php?s=7bb0ce3f2515563ec285e3f3f6346deb&showtopic=1571&pid=29995&st=0&#entry29995)
Given she's underwater (not surprising SHE'S GOT NO LEGS), I bet shes weak to the electric weapon.
PLUGMAN
Japanese Website live (http://www.capcom.co.jp/rockman/), nothing of real importance on it.
Some info from an E3 demo. (http://blue-bomber.jvmwriter.org/community/index.php?showtopic=1604)
Highlights:
Intro movie. Note Chun-Li is a news anchor and MagmaMan makes an appearance during the news section. Wily's bank account number is in fact the launch date of the original RockMan. Some people think Wily's robots he mentions will also have an appearance in the game, those people expect too much. Also note, Auto officially appears and IGN recently confirmed (http://wii.ign.com/articles/890/890563p1.html) him to be the guy running the shop again, Roll has reverted to her old dress and Eddie is now a telephone.
Plug Man's stage. Note the section with a bolt at the start that appears it could be
reached by sliding.
Concrete Man's stage.
Also some screens here, MegaMan has MagamMan's weapon which appears to be a spread shot. (http://blue-bomber.jvmwriter.org/community/index.php?showtopic=1603)
The other day IGN showed off some artwork of the bosses. (http://blue-bomber.jvmwriter.org/community/index.php?showtopic=1710&pid=32289&st=0&#entry32289)
Today the XBOX 360 achievements were leaked, (http://blue-bomber.jvmwriter.org/community/index.php?s=1b7caae317c60afad5595eb3655a2e5a&showtopic=1713&pid=32303&st=0&#entry32303) containing sprites of the other bosses which were used for the achievement graphics, an obvious spoiler and a couple of other things only go if you can handle the obvious spoiler.
Less spoilery stuff revealed in the achievements,
It is possible to beat the game in one hour.
Mystery Tanks are in the game, these are likely the same as the M-Tanks from MegaMan 5.

<@[YagamiLight]> Yo
<@UHMEEEEBA> http://blue-bomber.jvmwriter.org/community/index.php?s=&showtopic=1848&view=findpost&p=33889
<@UHMEEEEBA> [22:05] <@RobertTheSmall> Capcom is as lazy as fuck
<@UHMEEEEBA> [22:06] <@UHMEEEEBA> Indeed.
<@UHMEEEEBA> [22:07] <@UHMEEEEBA> I'm totally calling Jewel Man to be the obligatory shield using boss now.
<@[YagamiLight]> LMAO
<@[YagamiLight]> PLUGMAN IS A FUCKING SPARKMAN EDIT
<@UHMEEEEBA> Some the games sound track is actually from MegaMan 2...
<@UHMEEEEBA> Notably the menu theme and the weapon aquisition theme.
<@UHMEEEEBA> Yes the bleepy one thats like 2 seconds long.
Quote<@[YagamiLight]> Indeed.
<@UHMEEEEBA> Oh,
<@UHMEEEEBA> The full list of track names for MegaMan 9, did not have Bass/Forte's theme listed.
<@[YagamiLight]> ..... FUCKING GAY
<@UHMEEEEBA> However there doesn't even seem to be fortress boss music save the final boss.
<@[YagamiLight]> Either they're recycling it or they just excluded it.
<@UHMEEEEBA> They can't recycle it, it's not 8 bit.
<@UHMEEEEBA> Yes an instance where being lazy causes work.
<@[YagamiLight]> I mean recycling other tracks for it.
<@[YagamiLight]> And I was referring to fortress boss music.
<@UHMEEEEBA> Well the recycled music I mentioned earlier is in the track listing.
<@[YagamiLight]> I REALLY don't think they could leave out Forte... He's too important to the storyline at this point.
<@UHMEEEEBA> ProtoMan being reduced to a mere one screen easter egg in MegaMan 6 says hi.
It appears the music that played in the trailers was TornadoMan's theme (Track 09) (http://www.rockmanpm.com/?p=music/rockman9original). I guess we can say at this point that any character that has powers related to weather will have THE best themes.
So I listened to a couple of tracks...
Part of the music's problem here is that while it definitely sounds like NES-Era Capcom, it doesn't quite sound like all of it really fits in Megaman. The Boss theme sounds more like it fits in some other Capcom game.
You can never have this. (http://corrupt, adulterating shitbags.com/5050627/capcoms-amazing-mega-man-9-box-art)
QuoteYou can never have this. (http://corrupt, adulterating shitbags.com/5050627/capcoms-amazing-mega-man-9-box-art)
QuoteDon't worry, we're thinking about offering a very limited quantity (200) on the Capcom Store, probably with a PSN or XBLA game voucher.
But it might not matter if the assets get uploaded to The Megaman Network or some other site. As well as the box art and cart scanned. It's not far fetched to wonder if anybody'll try remaking the game on actual NES hardware.
Official English site launched. (http://megaman.capcom.com/index.php)
ProtoMan is listed in the characters section under a question mark, so he's in the game somehow.
It again confirms Beat behaves like he did in MegaMan 7.
ConcreteMan was created to build dams.
MagmaMan works at a Geothermal Plant.
TornadoMan works for a Weather Manipulation Office.
Still no sign of Bass/Forte, maybe he's a fortress boss, maybe not.
ProtoMan as a playable character to be included in the first DLC update. (http://www.gamesradar.com/f/mega-man-9-proto-man-dlc-on-the-way/a-20080918175646958001)
He costs roughly 2 dollars.
HOWEVER, ProtoMan has the slide and charge shot in addition to his shield...

Probably so. They did that in the last two games. In 8 he was only seen in the Fortress outside of that intro video.
IGN has a review. (http://wii.ign.com/articles/911/911715p1.html)
The game has apparently 50 plus challenges regardless of platform, besides that they don't really say anything really new. Also mention that the game is short compared to the "latter" NES MegaMan games, but the soundtrack listing already implied that. They also mention in the video review that the list of DLC is "interesting".
Read it earlier and still have that ":|" face from the 3.0 on graphics. Also why does Protoman cost money to get? Whatever happened to...I'unno....unlocking stuff ingame? :(
Capcom likes your money is what happened.
Just beat it. Thank God I had that one energy tank left during the Wily fight...
STORYLINE SHIT:
Was kinda disappointed with the ending though. It's one of those endings that is neither good nor bad, but more like, "So what the hell happened? I want to know!"
I also thought that when Wily said Dr. Light was sick that it would sort of lead into the events that MHX referenced.
Wily's full of shit, you should know that by now.
I really don't understand what you don't get about the ending, Wily tricked MegaMan into trying to save a Robot Clone of Light and escaped, there's really not much else to get wonder about...
My point was that the ending was kind of empty.
Also, I did not like the lack of Forte.
Double post because I am so getting this. (http://corrupt, adulterating shitbags.com/5052089/yup-youll-be-able-to-buy-a-mega-man-9-box)
i suck at megaman gaems so i'll probably suck at this as well sfsgeryhe
I was actually able to beat this one.
I bought Endless Attack and ProtoMan today.
I have yet to even try ProtoMan, Endless Attack is too much fun. It runs you through a bunch of small sections and counts your progress by how many screens you have cleared. Every 30 screens or so you seem to fight a MegaMan 9 boss.
Also of note I saw a few sections from other MegaMan games in there, most notably the first section of Wily Stage I from MegaMan 1, the infamous block section from Heat Man's stage (yes the one responsible for that stupid AirMan meme) and a spike drop section I recognized I think it's from one of the Wily Stages in MegaMan 2.
My record right now is 72 screens, I died because I jumped too high into spikes.
Seriously if you only enough money for one buy the Endless Attack. My only complaint is the music kind of sucks.
Edit: Ran into a section I had already did in another run so there doesn't seem to be random generation, there just seems to be an ass load of shit they can throw at you.
Tried ProtoMan finally, to be frank he really isn't that good.
He suffers from,
-Double Damage
-Double Recoil
-The fact he can only have two shots of the Proto Buster on the screen at once.
-His Charge Shot is the Wimpy MegaMan 4 version.
-He cannot access the shop (thus the only place he can get E-Tanks are PlugMans, TornadoMans stages and the Wily stages)
-He only uses his shield while jumping.
-Sliding doesn't really make that much of an improvement.
-He has no story
The only plus is you start off with his version of the Jet.
Played a bit more of Endless, stages can loop in my last run I went to one twice. Got 122 screens died on account of spikes.
Told you there'd be some stupid drawbacks to Protoman.
I'm fine with 1 or 2, but they just kept on leveling them on to the point of stupidity.
Wait a second... I just noticed something...
Those expecting Bass to be the boss of the Special Stage, prepare to be disappointed (http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/megaman9/news.html?sid=6199525&tag=gumballs;img;1).
Spoilers
The boss is "Fake Man" one of the fake police robots seen at the end of the game. It's a fair cop.
Yes, that is the worst pun I have ever stated in my entire life, I apologize.
