Half of Capcom is satisfied with releasing all the Battle Network games on the DS one at a time with shitty "upgrades", the other half took a look at the Zero series said "Fuck it let's put all four on one DS cart.". Holy shit YES.
awesome.
Hope it has some sort of extras that warrants a repurchase personally, I doubt we'll ever get anything like Wily Tower again but something would be nice.
Also hoping they actually put effort into porting the music, when they did it for OSS it actually sounded worse because of the way the DS emulates the GBA soundware. If you don't believe me here's a comparison:
Well, the site's music seems to imply that the music is a bit clearer. Either that or they just ran the GBA music without filtering it.
That really doesn't mean anything, hell the website for Zero 3 had an arranged version one of the themes in the game.
A new feature announced at World Hobby Fair (http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/01/17/details-on-mm10-zero-collection-from-world-hobby-fair/), it's called "Collection Mode" and is probably an Artwork Gallery or something.
I suppose it's possible they put in bios for Zero 1 and 2 as that concept didn't come around until Zero 3 but it seems a bit unlikely.
x2, except Zero3, and I never finished because IT'S TOO FUCKIN' HARD
Zero 3 is not that hard if you know what you're doing.
Invincible dash doesn't hurt but the game outright gives you that for beating the eel boss, so yeah.
Now Zero 1, that game would kick your ass if you looked at it the wrong way.
Zero3, I couldn't fucking get past that fucking water boss. I ragequit.
It helps if you hit the switches earlier in the stage it makes his attack pattern a joke.
Also another thing I forgot about the first game, the only way to get Sub-tanks was to use certain Cyber Elves, so it was a bit of a bitch.
Yeah the first Zero game is actually pretty sub-par, the other three are passable though.
Japanese trailer with english annotations. Collection Mode is indeed an art gallery.
The game apparently might be adding in extras from Zero 3 that where unlocked by the infamous e-card reader. (http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/01/18/rockman-zero-collection-gets-a-trailer/)
Which reminds me Zero 3 also had a pointless extra that resulted from linking the game up to Battle Network 4, whether or not they use that is up in the air.
Exactly why I never upgraded from the original model DS.
...Eh, that border around the gameplay screens doesn't bode well for anything improved. I was hoping that they'd try to make use of the screen space. But all I guess we can count on is that the games won't be changed period because of some BS like it'd take too much effort, though that never stopped Capcom from pseudo-upgrading the Ace Attorney games from GBA to DS with at least slightly better graphics.
It's still a great step up from the Battle Network port so I'm fairly happy with it.
I thought the DS Lite controls were more comfortable, personally... And this is coming from a guy who played Animal Crossing for HOURS at a time.
Supposedly the DSi XL is supposed to remedy that... but it doesn't have a GBA slot.
Simple actually, by not supporting GBA games it makes it harder for people to play those games now which justifies Nintendo, and by proxy other companies, re-releasing games or making collections of them.
Such as the game FOR THIS VERY THREAD.
Ö
?
Must be the ambien again.
LOL JESUS
what?
I really don't get what the big deal is.

Which means that we might see a Super Mario Bros. All Stars + Super Mario World DS port one day, maybe? We know that Nintendo would at least put some effort in to make it worth while.
if by "effort" you mean "put in stupid shit like voices and add that stupid air kick to Luigi in EVERY game" then yes, they put "effort" into it.
I'd rather have a Donkey Kong Country collection myself as long as they re-did and didn't just port the awful GBA versions.
A Wily Tower like game for that would work fairly well, specifically combining the DKC2 and 3 enemies in levels could lead to some interesting things.
KLAPTRAP
CAT O' 9 TAILS
KOINDOZER
ALL ON THE SAME SCREEN TRYING TO FUCK UP YOUR SHIT
No; a direct port of the SNES versions. Did you SEE the stupid shit they did to the GBA versions? They lost their fucking feel.
Part of the reason of them ruining them was that they were the property of RARE, whereas they hadn't worked with RARE in years... And thus, RARE wasn't in charge of the GBA ports.
Disregard that, I suck cocks.. Though a lot of the horrible decisions WERE on Nintendo's part and not RARE's. They were just told to do it, and if they're getting paid.... Well, they had to do it.
Even with RARE's help a new Donkey Kong Country would still (http://trinitymugen.net/forum/index.php?topic=1357.0) probably (http://trinitymugen.net/forum/index.php?topic=1136.0) suck (http://trinitymugen.net/forum/index.php?topic=1360.0).
It'd be better than them just shitting out Bongo games at the very least though.
What's good for them may not necessarily be what's good for us.
Anyways back on subject of Zero 3, it's worth noting it contains probably the biggest joke of a Mega Man boss ever.
Aaaaaaaaaargh I have to have the ice weapon? I've beaten nothing other than the intro stage because HE has the easiest stage!
That's the wrong water guy, he's in third set of bosses. Beat him first though if you ever get to it as he gives you the invincible dash boot chip.
If you want to beat the first water guy easier beat the first fire guy first.
Alternatively take out the bat boss first, he's a teleporting bastard but he's still pretty easy and gives you the thunder chip which makes the fire guy easier.
For the record the weaknesses in Zero are done as Fire > Elec > Ice > Fire. Elemental-less bosses just use the regular attacks on.
Jango took my video and made it awesome.

I beat Zero 1, wasn't THAT hard
Summer US release. (http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/01/28/capcom-announces-mega-man-zero-collection-for-summer-release/) Promises new game modes.
It's a shame the top screen will never be like this:

Oh hey this thread, nearly forgot about it. The game has an American release date of June 8th (http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2010/04/zero-collection-on-june-8th.html) for thirty bucks.
As they've done with every Mega Man game they've been involved with since the first Zero, Inti Creates is making a special soundtrack for this one as well. Various newer remixes of songs from the series. (http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-rockman-zero-soundtrack-on-way.html)
For those with cash to burn they're even making a special package that has the four original remixed sound tracks for 100 bucks.
What the fuck? You must be out of your GODDAMN MINDS.
I didn't even pay that much for SSFe Dojo Edition... WITH SHIPPING!
Yeah it is pretty fucking silly. Especially seeing as the 4/5 of the soundtrack is old.
Luckily the new soundtrack will also come in a singular version for much less.
It's as if the Megaman series doesn't already make enough money...
Well Mega Man 9 was the first since Battle Network 6 they made much on, the ZX games were both busts hence why they didn't make a third despite a cliff hanger ending.
Zero 3 will indeed have the old e-card bonuses in the game as an option. (http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/05/07/nintendo-power-reveals-new-details-on-mmzcs-mod-cards-and-easy-mode/) Also there is an easy mode.
Okay, what's with Zero's design here? (http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/9866/1273261075524.png)
The designs on the arranged CDs aren't always accurate, nothing to whine about.
So besides some minor issues here and there (the borders really being the only negative thing I've noticed) it's a fairly good compilation package for a low price. If you already have the originals though you might want to pass as there isn't really anything new there worth writing home about.
The new arranged sound track has already been leaked to youtube, sounds ok from what I've heard. Bit confused by some of the music they went for, they didn't even do Crash despite it being in all four games to some extent...
