No seriously what. (http://corrupt, adulterating shitbags.com/342985/darth-vader-yoda-join-the-cast-of-soulcalibur-iv)
What the fuck?
EDIT: Oh dear God, I just realized that means there's now going to be hentai of Darth Vader or Yoda x Soul Calibur girls.
Whats with all the fighting game character reveals in today anyways?
At least SC4's coming out for 360 is all I have to say.
Amen.
Yeah about that... (http://corrupt, adulterating shitbags.com/343067/ps3-xbox-360-get-exclusive-star-wars-soulcalibur-iv-characters)
WHAT?!
FUCKING GAY DUDE, FUCKING GAY, FUCKING GAY SUCKING MOTHERFUCKING GAYASS SHITBALLS
That still leaves some rumor space open:
Why would they go through all the trouble of signing a deal with Lucasarts if all they were going to use were two measly characters, Yoda and Darth Vader? There's gotta be more sellout than that.
But I don't give a damn if I'm playing a hopping hermit. He's a hermit that turned badass when Episode II came out... He was also the shining moment of Episode II.
Yeah because that one scene saved Episode II from epic failure.
Lightsabers save Star Wars itself from epic failure.
Though that didn't save Episode III... No, Vader saved Episode III.

Fixed.
Hi guys.
Also, they'll probably have Darth Vader downloadable for the 360 version. Y'know, like Venom in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance?
^ Downloadable Vader? Then they would have to make Yoda downloadable for the PS3. They might as well just put both characters on both systems. Which is not going to happen.
It might happen if Namco decides to grow a brain.
I ask once again... Why not Luke? (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6192140.html?tag=latestnews;title;1)

Because why have a fan favorite and give Mark Hamill another chance to put food on the table when you can advertise your latest big game?
Besides, it could still happen. There's a glut of animu girls designed by animu artists, so there'll probably be a glut of Star Wars characters too. :/
I guess it would be sort of ridiculous to totally rule out the possibility of Luke... After all, this popped up months after the trailer and was quite unexpected.
I think Namco just likes adding bizarre, out-of-place characters in their games (I'd say Gon in Tekken 3 but Roger was already in 2 beforehand).
Who really remembered why Necris or Heihachi was in SC2 anyway?
Darth Vader and Yoda are fan favorites, they're probably the only ones they could secure the original VAs to as well. As well as the Force Unleashed apprentice guy, think of it: Force Unleashed is all over the news in terms of Star Wars, so it works out as a bit of a cross-promotion thing.
Siegfried as a secret character in Force Unleashed?
You heard it here first, folks.
Footage of the apprentice (http://www.gamespot.com/video/940048/6192182/soulcalibur-iv-official-trailer-5), apparently his name is Starkiller.
Starkiller... That was the first last name George Lucas had for Luke Skywalker.
ZOMG this is gonna be awesome, I'm definitely getting it now.. just imagine if they added in characters from other places too like Dante or something to fight against Darth Vader. I'm fapping furiously at the thought of this coming true..
Quote from: [L] on June 07, 2008, 01:09:23 AM
Seriously? o_O
Yeah, seriously. The early drafts of the first movie had his name as "Luke Starkiller"
5 Star Wars characters are confirmed... (http://www.psu.com/Sith-Apprentice-to-appear-in-Soul-Calibur-IV-News--a0003899-p0.php) One of them better be Luke.
I'm with you on that one. Obi perhaps as well?
Speaking of adding characters, how XBAWKZ HUEG is the roster going to be?
Even more Star Wars characters?
Well, at least it won't be like that other Star Wars fighting game. Basically it made Battle Arena Toshinden 2 look way too fast.
May as well have Namco make a Star Wars fighting game.
Or re-make Masters of Teras Kasi. Good concept, but poor execution. But also the first case of actually half-accurate lightsaber trails in any game that wasn't 2D.
STAR WARS VS SOUL CALIBUTT
ontopic, Star Wars characters that need to be in.
Sebulba (he has so much move potential it's not funny)
Ponda Baba WITH CYBERNETICALLY REPLACED ARM
(http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/niennunb/img/movie_bg.jpg)
Either of these two guys
ADMIRAL ACKBAR OR GTFO
IT'S A TARP and only if he dances to Blumchen music with Hitler
I'm happy with just Vader vs Vader for a lightsaber duel.
They're probably gonna pick just well known characters like Luke, Maul, Obi, etc.

Namco needs to keep doing this crap with their series, it's awesome.
The next game needs to have Namco put some of their own other characters in a la Heihachi. Craig Marduk, Pac-Man, Dig Dug and Klonoa for SC5 all the way niggah.
Rena Hayami (http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/1723/renahayami77rw3.jpg) and Gina Cavalli (http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/3927/ginacavalli80bu3.jpg) plz
Let me take the time to say that Vader plays awesome, and I kinda like character creation so far. It's a bit lacking, but I guess I have to unlock more stuff, RIGHT?
I wish I could create custom characters with lightsabers, but I guess when I think about it it's kind of a good thing, otherwise we'd just see a bunch of the same damn thing in online play.

anyway. Siegfried, or Mitsurugi, or god help me Kilik.
I've fucking given up just trying to play online in SC4 because of all three of them, and the fact that
EVERYBODY USES THEM LIKE FALCO IS IN MELEE.
Somehow I thought Mitsurugi would be overused. Damn weeaboos.

Isn't that what Special VS online is for?
Then again I'll probably run into countless generic 'dark' characters or some pathetic attempt to recreate Chuck Norris or something.
That's why I'm planning to make characters like Frank Zappa and Cornholio anyway.
I've got the guy from the front of the Quaker Oatmeal boxes created, it's on my Youtube account.
LOL

Pfff. Wonder why.
So a friend of mine brought his PS3 and a bunch of us played SC4 for hours on end. First thing my bro did was copy the R.Kelly character and proceeded to beat us senseless. At one point he randomly yelled "IT'S PISSING TIME" and only a split second later, his opponent knocked off R.Kelly's pants.
I'm looking for some folks to play SC4 online with.
So today I got both the 360 and this game.
I have to say, among the most amazing things I've seen, Yoda kicking the shit out of Ahmed Johnson was definitely one of them.
I just made M.C. Hammer and Bikini Athena.

Glad to see I'm not the only one making completely out-of-place characters.
So far I've made myself, Ahmed Johnson, an evil hippie, A.B.A, Ten Count, and some guy from a McDonald's video whom Nimrod and I deemed 'Big Mac Crack'.
I plan to make Terry Tate and Courtney Love next. I would make Trip Fisk but I don't have any eyepatches.
When I get a 360 this will be one of the first games I get that's not on Live Arcade.
BUT YOU GOTTA PAY FOR ONLINE PLAY THAT YOU CAN'T PLAY WITH ME BECAUSE I HAVE THE PS3 VERSION

Meh, either way I'd get my ass kicked online so I'm not that concerned.
Although everyone keeps nagging me to get Live, but I might need assistance due to causes of being a moron.
YOU CAN PLAY AGAINST ME IF YOU WANT I GOT THE GANGSTA GAMING 360 DEVICE ONE
I PROMISE TO ONLY USE KILLIK'S Y,Y COMBO ONLY TILL YOU DIE
Alright, let's divide among us who has the PS3 and 360 versions, for future online reference.
I have PS3, and several have already mentioned having the 360 version.
As far as weird CAS characters go, I have a good number. My brother made what is essentially his answer to Jesuszilla's Niggah.
360, here.
Obviously 360 here as well, and I'm going to set up Live today.
360 and maybe later PS3 aswell.
For the PS3 guys, I'm lolohman, and I trade with my brother occasionally.
If it's Raphael, Vader, Apprentice, The Quaker Oatmeal Man or a Guilty Gear character it's me.
If it's Astaroth, Tira, Rock, Shao Kahn or a skinny black dude with a bleach blonde mustache it's him.
We both play as our other CAS though, which is a surprise.
Actually scratch that, I've tried everything and I can't get Live to fucking work.
This just in: CAS is worthy of kickass status:

WHAT? NINE THOUSAND?!
GALICK GUN
PS3, I_am_Kira
I'll add you two.
Represent dat PS-Triple, ABAP.
So apparantly Vader is in the 360 version after all. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRGKhkn6vbY)
Pisses me off they make everyone wait to download them. Hopefully it'll be the pack with everyother character instead of paying for each one.

Wh.... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!
Good, I get to pummel that little green dwarf in due time then.
Don't be to thrilled. He's a bitch to play against online as he can't be grabbed and literaly moreso then in past fighters where characters of small stature had moves go over them, in SC4 it can really piss you off when you can't combo him properly or people abuse his abilty to get in on you and use his jumping attacks then being able to float backwards after the combo and repeat it. Idiot people online.... >:(
Especialy need to fix that grab glitch.

Wh.... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!
Whats wrong? ???
hell even Dragon Ball Z Budokai allowed tall characters to lock onto small characters, so how can a game this ambitious not be able to?!
I couldn't answer you that and funny enough I belive this happened with Gon in Tekken. So after seeing all that and how many years have passed since applying a small character in a fighting game plus the knowledge of others making that mistake, but at the very least fixing it in later titles(People could lockon to Krillin & gohan easy for grabs but some moves wnet over their heads so in B2 they made it so characters move adjusted to the way they faced the opponent) like Budokai and Gohan you mentioned that they had it down to some degree.
I had read about that Yoda glitch before I went to pick my copy up and was greeted with a update just after release, but it didn't seem to fix jacksquat. Some said it was for those who were "glitching" the achivements. I could never find anything on their site about the 360 update so I'm not entirely sure what that whole thing was about. Did the PS3 version get an update too or sometime later in the week?
Only thing I heard about that update was that it fixed something with Astaroth.
