With the success of MegaMan X, and Sigma's promise of a return at the end of MegaMan X, this sequel was inevitable. How did it fair? Well let us find out.

Gameplay: Building up on the previous game, the basic gameplay is the same. You now start off with the dash upgrade from the previous game, and can get new upgrades from Dr. Light, as well as heart tanks and sub-tanks. In addition there is also the addition of the Ride Chaser, which you use in Overdrive Ostrich's stage. Although the Ride Chaser is fun, it is underutilized. The addition of the Armor upgrade's Giga Attack has been used in most X games after this. Overall the game is quite good.

Music: This is a rather mixed bag. Some of the tracks in this game are quite good, notably Overdrive Ostrich's stage. However, it also has its share of repetitive music that is painful, notably Wheel Gator's stage and the Boss Theme. Not to bad, but it could be better.

Translation: I never really noticed any real mistakes.

Length: Again good length for a MegaMan game. However, the last stage in the game is in fact a reused section of Magna Centipede's, which was quite silly.

Rehash Factor: Totally new content, only a few stage enemies are even reused. Quite odd indeed.

Plot: So the X-Hunters are trying to revive Zero, and then you find out its Sigma. Can you say Dr. Cossack? I knew you could. That aside, it's still pretty decent, and the ending sets up Zero's continued role in the series.

Difficulty: While still quite easy, this games bosses are generally harder that the ones from its predecessor. Wheel Gator is a tad on the cheesy side, but the other bosses make up for that. The X-Hunters also could provide a challenge if you aren't familiar with them.

Total: 90/100 = 90 %

Overall a fairly good game, probably not as good as its predecessor but that was a hard game to top.

Positive: Three words: Green Biker Dude

Negative: Wheel Gator.
