A collaboration between Nintendo and Team Ninja... I guess Nintendo decided Retro Studios had ran into the ground far enough and handed the drill to someone else.

Includes both first and third person perspectives throughout the game apparently.

Earlier Joystiq speculated it to be an origin story, because the Prime games didn't fuck up the time line enough.

Well, with the way Zero Mission portrayed the Chozo, I guess you could get some religious subtext out of an origin story.

But it doesn't look like it's entirely origins.  Origins and maybe in part retellings of the past?  We might just find out what happened after Fusion.

Hell, the fact they're still acknowledging that as being a legit title is odd enough.

Also: Seems that Nintendo R&D1's on this title.  They're the ones responsible for all of the classic Metroid titles.
