Rather than make a new thread I decided to put it here, Nintendo refuses to use WiiWare for it's major franchises.

I seriously want to know what drugs they're doing.

Given how Nintendo is still making Mario Party games and sports games the fact that they aren't making something to cash in using Mario's visage is a bit surprising.

Well there is Dr. Mario but that's probably a result of Nintendo realizing releasing that the regular way probably wouldn't sell well...

As for Nintendo's other franchises Nintendo typically doesn't whore them out as much* (the exception being Pokemon which does have a Wii Ware title).

*This is highly relative when dealing with Nintendo and franchise whoring.

It's a damn shame as it'd be a great platform for Nintendo to make a new 2d Metroid as opposed to the shit they've been making since Prime 2. Or a Kirby game as Kirby Wii seems to be stuck in eternal limbo for all time. Or Star Fox seeing how Nintendo is afraid of making a Star Fox game with bells and whistles attached to it, you could do a simpler game for Wii Ware for less cost.

It just doesn't make sense, even for Nintendo.

Then again, nothing about Nintendo really seems trustworthy.  Reggie, that situation with that one-man dev team who wanted to release his work for profit only to be left in the dark (and only RECENTLY did they reveal they said "no"), how their E3 2009 presence will be "about the games" (probably all this yapping about innovation, Wii Motion Plus' and what it's done and all that jazz) and Reggie misinterpreting what 'Hardcore' is to the core gamer.  I just can't really feel too trusting in Nintendo any more.

Wii Motion Plus to retail for 20 dollars.

This means, just to get the controller the way it should have been it will cost 80 dollars, 40 for the Wiimote, 20 for the Nunchuck and and another 20 for the the Wii Motion Plus. Disregarding the Wii Mote and Nunchuck that come with the Wii thats 260 dollars for 4 players, more than the system itself and thats not even factoring in the Zappers/Wheels and Wii Fit pads.

Hmm this seems familiar.

And now Nintendo isn't giving profits to some of the companies that are making Wii Ware titles.

Sure this mostly affects shovel ware but it's still a dick move.
